Merriam-Webster dictionary defines wonder as “a feeling of surprise mingled with admiration, caused by something beautiful, unexpected, unfamiliar, or inexplicable.”

Has God done anything in your life recently that is unexpected, unfamiliar, or inexplicable? If not, then maybe you have lost your wonder. Maybe you have lost your hunger and desire to see God move supernaturally within your natural realm.

Our God truly is a God of wonder—a God full of mysteries that are only unveiled through passionate pursuits in the secret place. He is literally full of wonder. The problem with the American church is that they think they already “know” everything about God. They have attended the VBS programs, sung the songs, and memorized scriptures for prizes. The truth is just because you know everything in the Bible does not mean that your pursuit ends. The Bible is the true and living Word of the Lord. It is not the only way of hearing from him. Visions, dreams, spoken words, and other forms of communication are how God speaks to His people in the most intimate ways. However, everything you do must be in agreement with the Word.

People who are obsessed with the mysteries of this earth are often not conquered enough in the area of obsession with the mysteries in that earth.

“The answer to the world around you is the world within you.” –Damon Thompson

If His gaze has not captivated your heart, then theology and doctrine can only do so much. If you cannot recognize His whisper, feel His love, or know His pursuit that he has after us, then you will not be able to recognize and obey His commands daily.

“Powers of darkness bow beneath Your feet. Jesus, You’re wonderful

All of creation sings your praises. Jesus, You’re wonderful

Your loving-kindness knows no bounds. You’re wonder… wonderful!”

They speak of the glorious splendor of your majesty—and I will meditate on your wonderful works.

-Psalm 145:5

Stop and consider God’s wonders. Do you know how the clouds hang, those wonders of him who is perfect in knowledge.

-Job 37:14-24

“Oh, oh, how my soul burns for You

There’s no One higher than You, Jesus

You paid the highest price

I’m in awe and wonder of my God, my Savior

You have paid my ransom on that cross”

“Many of the things we have tried to produce mechanically happen organically when we say yes to the devotional lifestyle.” –Damon Thompson

Will you say yes to living a life in awe and wonder of the One who paid the highest price?

You can either fill your life with wonder at His feet, or wonder why you are not fulfilled in your own life in constant defeat.
